Report on Our Activities for 2025
In 2025, we received 285 requests to simplify texts. Each request uses artificial intelligence. This requires energy and produces carbon dioxide.
We estimate that each request produces about 10 grams of carbon dioxide (CO2). This figure is based on several articles. We chose slightly higher numbers to be cautious.
Here are two articles that explain this topic:
- What's the carbon footprint of using ChatGPT?
- Impact environnemental de l'IA : ChatGPT face à la crise climatique (in French)
In total, this represents 2.85 kilograms of carbon dioxide for the year 2025.
To offset these emissions, we planted three trees. Each tree can absorb about 10 kilograms of carbon dioxide per year. This estimate comes from several sources. Here are two articles that explain this topic:
We hope that these actions, even modest, will help reduce our impact on the environment.
